CHURCH MUSIC DIRECTOR/CHURCH MUSICIAN
To collaborate with the pastor on selecting appropriate music for regular and special worship services, including hymns, choral anthems and other special music.
To provide music for the morning service on Sunday, personal practice, planning and research time as the pianist and music director for the church. This includes leading music in the Sunday morning worship service and leading music in additional worship services as applicable, plus practice and planning time. To provide music for special worship services such as Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Easter Sunday and Christmas Eve.
To provide leadership and direction in all facets of the church’s music ministry, including special music such as soloists, voice and/or instrumental groups and other musicians.
To meet and consult regularly with the pastor to determine priorities for tasks to be accomplished within budgeted time.
To maintain musical instruments used in the music ministry of the church, including the organ, pianos and other instruments as needed.
To provide music for weddings and funerals as needed. Fees for these services will be paid by the parties involved and will be based on a fee schedule set up by the church musician, using guidelines established by the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.

A ministry that has been sustained by First Presbyterian Church in partnership with the Flint River Presbytery for over 25 years. This faithful outreach continues under the strong leadership of Joshua Minich, Director of Campus Ministries, working alongside the churches and the students. Members not only fund the program, but weekly serve lunch and build friendships at the Pres House on campus.
